I am a BACP Accredited (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists) counsellor working from my room in Stroud, Gloucestershire, and I offer weekly in-person or online counselling to adults and young people.

My aim is to offer a safe, warm and welcoming space in which you feel both seen and heard. From this space, we will work at your pace to explore whatever you want to focus on at this time.

The way I work is primarily psychodynamic – helping you to identify patterns in your life, often unconscious, linked to the past. I draw on Attachment Theory and on Internal Family Systems to work creatively with the many 'parts' of ourselves, those that we know and love, and others that are more challenging, or perhaps unknown. I have a deep respect for our embodied experience, for the 'felt sense' of ourselves, particularly when there has been any kind of trauma, and so I encourage working somatically through awareness, sensing, movement and visualization to deepen our self-knowledge and healing. I am trauma-informed and use psycho-education where appropriate.

About

I believe that our stories are in our bodies, in our relationship to ourselves, in our relationships to others, and in our ways of being in the world. Once we start to embody our stories, to face our vulnerability, our shame, our fear, our anger, our grief – a deeper level of self acceptance can occur.

My hope is that through counselling with me you will gain a deeper understanding of yourself, and that this in turn empowers you to make the change you seek.

My fee is £55 per 50-minute session. Get in touch to see how we might work together.

no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here."

Welcome

Life is not easy. It is a truth that none of us can avoid. The fact that you are looking here suggests that there is something in your life that feels stuck, painful, maybe hopeless or unreachable, and that you want something different for yourself – that you want to find a path to change. Perhaps you want to free yourself from repetitive patterns of behaviour, self-limiting beliefs or the impact of trauma – to deepen your connection to yourself so that life feels richer, more rewarding and that you feel more authentically you.

I understand that asking for help is not easy, in fact it may be one of the hardest things you ever do. Self-discovery can feel daunting, and takes courage, but I invite you to begin.
